As part of its growth, an exciting opportunity has opened for an Iron Ore Originator in Singapore.
Role
Reporting to the Head of Iron Ore. The Iron Ore Originator is responsible for developing, acquiring, and managing iron ore supply and offtake opportunities across Asia markets. The role focuses on building strategic relationships with miners, steel mills, traders, and logistics partners to secure profitable flows, expand market presence, and strengthen the trading book. The ideal candidate combines deep market knowledge with strong commercial acumen and a broad network in the iron ore ecosystem.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a degree in business or a related field and at least 8 years of experience in iron ore trading or procurement. They should possess a strong network of miners, end-users, steel mills, and logistics partners, along with a solid understanding of iron ore quality specifications, pricing mechanisms, and contract structures. A proven track record of closing commercial deals and generating profitable flows is essential. The role requires excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to travel internationally.
