A growing robotics technology company is looking for a Robotics QA Engineer to ensure its robots work safely and reliably in real-world environments where they operate around people. This role focuses on defining how quality is measured, tested, and maintained as robots move from development into deployment. You will help set clear standards for what “ready for release” looks like and build testing approaches that teams can rely on as systems scale across different sites and hardware setups.

      Key Responsibilities

Reporting to a senior engineering leader, you will take ownership of quality across the full lifecycle of robotic systems. Your responsibilities will include:

      • Setting clear quality standards and release criteria for new features, system updates, and deployments.
      • Planning and running tests across simulation, controlled environments, and live operating sites.
      • Investigating issues seen in testing or deployment by reviewing logs, system data, and observed behaviour, and working with engineers to resolve them.
      • Defining simple, practical success measures for robot behaviour, task completion, and interaction with people, with safety as a core focus.
      • Supporting structured reviews of system and model updates to ensure changes do not introduce new risks.
      • Building and maintaining basic automation, tools, and test setups that make validation repeatable and visible over time.

      Key Qualifications

You have experience testing complex systems that combine software, hardware, and intelligent behaviour, and you are comfortable working closely with engineering teams. Requirements include:

      • Minimum 3 years of experience in QA, testing, or validation for autonomous systems, embedded products, or AI-based platforms.
      • A good understanding of how autonomous systems can fail, including sensing, decision-making, and movement.
      • Hands-on experience writing test scripts or tools in Python and or C++.
      • The ability to create clear test plans and explain issues in a structured, practical way.
      • Experience working in Linux-based environments.
      • Strong written communication skills, especially when documenting findings and risks.
      • Experience with robotics frameworks, simulation tools, or safety-focused development is helpful but not essential.
