Senior Infrastructure Architect – Leading Financial Services Organisation

A leading financial services organisation is seeking an Infrastructure Architect to shape the future of its enterprise technology infrastructure and drive the adoption of modern, innovative architecture. This is a strategic and hands-on architecture role responsible for designing secure, resilient and scalable infrastructure across a complex technology environment. Working closely with Engineering, Cloud, Cybersecurity and Technology teams, you will define future-state architecture, evaluate emerging technologies and translate business requirements into practical infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

You will define and evolve the enterprise infrastructure architecture, developing technology roadmaps and reference architectures across cloud, compute, storage, network, virtualisation and platform technologies. You will assess the existing infrastructure landscape, identify opportunities for modernisation and introduce new technologies and architectural patterns that improve scalability, resilience, automation and operational efficiency.

You will lead the architecture and design of complex infrastructure solutions, providing technical direction from concept through implementation and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security and regulatory standards. You will champion hybrid and multi-cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, software-defined technologies and modern engineering practices, while evaluating emerging technologies and determining how they can create meaningful business and technology value.

Partnering closely with infrastructure engineering, application, cybersecurity and operations teams, you will provide architecture governance and design assurance for major transformation initiatives. You will also engage senior technology stakeholders, challenge traditional approaches where appropriate and help establish architecture standards that enable innovation while maintaining the resilience and security required within a highly regulated environment.

Requirements

You have at least 10- 15 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering and architecture, with a strong track record designing large-scale, mission-critical technology environments. You possess broad expertise across cloud and hybrid infrastructure, compute, storage, networking, virtualisation and infrastructure automation, together with a strong understanding of architecture principles, security and operational resilience.

You have experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud, and are familiar with modern technologies including containers, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and software-defined infrastructure. Experience driving infrastructure modernisation or large-scale technology transformation within financial services or similarly complex enterprise environments would be advantageous.

You are an innovative and commercially minded architect who enjoys exploring emerging technologies while remaining pragmatic about enterprise implementation. You possess excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and are comfortable influencing senior technology leaders, challenging established approaches and translating complex technical concepts into clear architectural direction.
