Senior Platform Engineer (GCP) – Trading Platform

We are working with an established financial institution, seeking a senior Platform Engineer to join the team building out a new trading platform. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the development of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications.

As a senior Platform Engineer, you will be focusing on the design, deployment, and operational excellence of cloud-native applications. You will collaborate closely with software engineers and product managers to build robust systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a strong emphasis on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and modern DevOps practices. Your responsibilities will include shaping deployment strategies, automating infrastructure, and supporting the team in building production-grade systems. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing best practices and automation frameworks that can be adopted across the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with over 5 years of experience in cloud engineering or DevOps roles. Hands-on experience with GCP is essential. Proficiency in Terraform, Helm, and YAML/JSON templates is required, as well as a deep understanding of Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and container orchestration. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly ADO, is also necessary. The candidate should be skilled in Python and Java, and have experience with cloud security, compliance, monitoring, and cost management. Exposure to disaster recovery planning and incident response is highly desirable. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills are a must.
