Senior Legal Counsel, Oil & Gas

About the Company

Our client is a global Oil & Gas Company and they are seeking a commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel to support their downstream operations. In this senior position, you will be partnering closely with business leaders on a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and strategic legal matters.

Responsibilities

You will provide strategic legal advice to senior management and business stakeholders on a wide range of commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters. You will draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including supply, distribution, procurement, logistics, marketing, and service contracts, while supporting strategic business initiatives, joint ventures, and commercial transactions. You will identify legal and compliance risks, deliver practical and commercially sound solutions, manage disputes and external counsel where required, and oversee legal policies and compliance frameworks.

Requirements

You should be a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7 years’ PQE and strong commercial legal experience, ideally gained within the energy, oil & gas, chemicals, manufacturing, or industrial sectors. Candidates directly from the law firm with Corporate Commercial or M&A experience are welcome to apply. Ideally you should have proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements and advising on regulatory and compliance matters.
