In the podcast, she highlights the importance of understanding job descriptions, stating, “A good job description actually says a lot of good things about a company. It shows that I care—about my brand, how I present myself, and how I want to attract the right people.”
The discussion delves into the nuances of job descriptions, advising job seekers not to be overly critical of sparse details. Agnes points out that a lack of details might not necessarily indicate a red flag. She explains, “Sometimes when I say a job description doesn’t actually have a lot of details, it doesn’t necessarily mean a bad thing. It could also be because the hiring manager is fairly open-minded.”

Agnes also emphasises the significance of conducting due diligence beyond the job description. She encourages candidates to leverage their networks, utilise online resources, and engage with recruiters to gain a comprehensive understanding of potential roles. “You can do some CSI… go on LinkedIn, check out the people’s section, who are the people there… You might have two or three degrees of connection.”
