Description
Our client is a leading global investment bank with a well-established Global Markets franchise operating across major financial centres worldwide. As part of its continued investment in strategic transformation, regulatory change and business growth initiatives, the firm is seeking an experienced Executive Director to join its Global Transformation team.
Operating as an independent transformation function, the team partners closely with senior leaders across Global Markets, Finance, Risk, Operations and Technology to deliver the firm’s most strategically important initiatives. Reporting to a Global Managing Director, this role offers the opportunity to lead complex, cross-border programmes with significant executive visibility and business impact.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Global Head of Transformation, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale strategic programmes across the Global Markets business, ensuring successful execution from mobilisation through implementation, adoption and post-delivery governance.
You will be accountable for a portfolio of high-profile initiatives spanning regulatory change, business expansion, operating model transformation, legal entity and booking model optimisation, capital and exposure management, and strategic business initiatives. Working across multiple regions, you will establish robust governance frameworks, manage programme interdependencies, mitigate delivery risks and ensure successful execution across multiple workstreams.
Acting as the central point of coordination, you will influence senior stakeholders across Front Office, Finance, Risk, Operations and Technology, driving alignment across global and regional priorities while balancing commercial, regulatory and operational objectives.
You will chair programme governance forums, prepare executive-level reporting, facilitate strategic decision-making and provide timely escalation of programme risks and issues to senior leadership.
In addition, you will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of programme management standards, governance disciplines and transformation capabilities across the broader Global Markets franchise.
Requirements
Degree qualified, with approximately 15–20 years of experience leading complex transformation programmes within global investment banking environments.
You possess a demonstrable track record of personally leading the successful delivery of enterprise-wide strategic initiatives from inception through implementation, with experience managing large, cross-functional programmes involving geographically dispersed teams and senior executive stakeholders.
A strong understanding of Global Markets businesses and products is essential, together with experience partnering closely with Front Office, Finance, Risk and Technology teams in delivering front-to-back transformation initiatives.
Exposure to large-scale regulatory and strategic programmes—including areas such as capital optimisation, legal entity transformation, booking model change, regulatory reform, business expansion, or related enterprise-wide initiatives—will be highly regarded.
You are recognised as a credible and influential programme leader, comfortable operating within complex matrix organisations and engaging confidently with Managing Directors, Global Business Heads and executive steering committees. You combine strong commercial judgement with disciplined programme execution, exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to bring structure and clarity to highly complex environments.
Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA or equivalent are preferred.
