Overview
A large Energy Group is looking to hire a Market Research Analyst to join its oil trading business. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an energy trading firm where research insights and market fundamentals will directly influence trading strategies and business decisions.

Role
Reporting to the Head of Market Research, the Analyst will be responsible for delivering comprehensive analysis of market fundamentals, including supply-demand dynamics, pricing trends, and geopolitical factors affecting oil and light ends products. You will monitor global economic indicators and industry-specific data to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks, while building and maintaining accurate market models. The role also involves preparing detailed reports and presentations that provide strategic recommendations to support trading activities. Close collaboration with the trading team is essential to ensure timely and relevant insights that drive effective decision-making. Additionally, you will assist in vessel tracking and support the lead with day-to-day responsibilities and special projects.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in market research within a trading or commodities firm, with hands-on exposure to oil trading and a focus on refined products. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical success factors, along with the ability to construct and maintain market models and identify structural market changes. You are best described as a results-driven individual with a strong desire to do well.
