LNG Trading Analyst – Large Commodities Trading Firm

We are working with a large commodities trading firm to hire a motivated LNG Trading Analyst. This position reports to the Head of LNG Trading and plays a crucial role in supporting the company’s commercial and trading operations through analytical expertise, market intelligence, and data-driven insights.

Description

As a LNG Trading Analyst, you will perform a comprehensive range of analytics activities including natural gas/LNG market research, model development, database management, and market report generation. Your analysis will focus globally with particular emphasis on Asian markets, taking a multi-commodity approach that considers crude oil, JKM, HH, TTF, coal, and carbon. Key responsibilities include developing decision-supporting tools, conducting supply-demand analysis, forecasting future gas/LNG plans, reviewing LNG contracts, preparing internal reports for management, and maintaining strict adherence to compliance standards. Additionally, you will serve as a Trading Assistant, handling operational matters to support trading activities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses trading analysis experience in an O&G major or trading house, with a proven track record of synthesizing insightful natural gas/LNG market analysis. Strong analytical capabilities are essential, including proficiency in developing tools and models, and working effectively with traders and stakeholders. You should demonstrate excellent problem-solving and communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with experience using industry platforms like Bloomberg, Platts, and Wood Mackenzie.
