System Administrator (Unix/Linux)

Overview
A leading payments organisation is hiring a System Administrator in Singapore to support critical production infrastructure across Unix, Linux, middleware and storage environments. This is a hands-on infrastructure role within the Infrastructure team responsible for secure and high-performing platforms supporting business-critical services
Responsibilities
You will manage and maintain Unix and Linux environments across production, disaster recovery, test, and UAT platforms, ensuring strong availability, performance, and operational stability. Responsibilities include system administration, OS hardening and patching, infrastructure upgrades, certificate and password lifecycle management, backup scheduling, disaster recovery planning and testing, and Level 2/3 incident support. You will also support change and release activities, create deployment packages, maintain configuration records, perform capacity and performance monitoring, and contribute to infrastructure enhancement projects in line with established security, service management, and change governance processes.
Requirements
You should bring at least 4 years of experience in system administration and support across Unix, Linux, and middleware environments, with exposure to Sun Solaris, Linux servers, SAN, enterprise backup, monitoring tools, OS hardening, patching, and scripting automation. Experience with database administration, data center operations, and public cloud administration is preferrable. The role requires strong troubleshooting ability and clear communication with technical and business stakeholders. Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred, along with Unix/Linux system administration certification.
